This is a topic I wish I knew about when I was expecting my babies.

Sonography.

A sonographer's job is to use their tools to produce images and videos of your baby inside the womb! They then can print those photos out and send you the videos they captured so you can bond with your baby even deeper until you meet them face to face.

A lot of people don't realize this but there are places you can go to get pregnancy sonography done without a referral or even a real medical reason. If you are pregnant and madly in love with your unborn baby then sonography is going to be your best friend.

A sonography appointment can be used for things like:

-Check on baby's health

-Gender determination

-See what the baby's face looks like

-Hear the baby's heart-rate

-Bond with unborn bay

-Etc.

Over the years I have come to love Motherhood ultrasound. They are so nice, warm, and welcoming! Their office is conveniently located right near the Annapolis Mall with some fabulous dining options nearby so I can imagine making a day of it.

Picture this:

1st: Sonography appointment with Motherhood Ultrasound to see your precious baby.
2nd: Trip to the Annapolis mall to purchase some adorable outfits for your maternity photoshoot with Paint The Stars Photography.
3rd: Lunch at one of the waterfront restaurants in downtown Annapolis.

A few years back I photographed the sweetest couple as they enjoyed the services at Motherhood ultrasound. It was such a lovely experience. Mom and dad were able to comfortably bond as they viewed their sweet daughter. All in the clean and relaxing atmosphere of this office.

I particularly loved how the experienced sonographer took the time to answer all their questions and show them their baby in all the different angles they wanted to see her in.

Mom and dad left with photos of their baby in their hands and smiles on their faces. It was truly a blissful experience for them.

I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to Love at First Sight. I took a day and visited both locations and met with the owners, one in Towson and the other in Frederick. I love how both locations had such different vibes.

The Frederick office is very airy, bright, and reminiscent of a California boutique. It even had the cutest little play area for little ones! The Towson spot had a more colorful, cozy, homey vibe. The owners, Ashley and Jessica are absolute dolls and the sweetest women around. I can see why their clients love to work with them.

They have a decade of experience in the industry and a background in the high-risk OB world. They use that knowledge to take the utmost care of their clients! You can tell they genuinely care about the people that come to them and the babies they get to see.

One of my favorite aspects of Love at First Sight was all the awesome toys, trinkets, and products they offer their clients in addition to their sonography services. They had pink and blue confetti poppers, heartbeat stuffed animals, teething rings, bracelets, and all kinds of stuff.

Although all of these things are wonderful, Jessica at the Frederick location said she absolutely recommends adding a video from your appointment. It is a priceless keepsake!

I asked the ladies what is one piece of advice you'd give to an expecting mom before their appointment and they said "Water is your best friend. Stay hydrated. Good Amniotic fluid= great sonography photos!"

If you live in the D.C. area, then look no further for your sonographer. Baby Joy Sonography is a perfect place to get a good look at your precious babe.

I know I say that all the locations of every office I visit are amazing but seriously Baby Joy is located right smack dab in the middle of downtown Silver Spring. Does it get more perfect than that? They have convenient street parking and a huge public parking garage right nearby. Super easy to park and find them!

I met with Beth to chat about her business and she told me she loves this location because it's so convenient for her clients.

Speaking of making her business super convenient to her clients, did you know Baby Joy Sonography has mobile options!? I was blown away when Beth told me this. So, imagine having a sonographer come to your baby shower, or your gender reveal party or even for moms who are on bed rest but still want to see their baby. Isn't that incredible? Make sure you ask about their mobile options when you reach out to them!

Beth has 15 years of experience in the sonography world. She has loved caring for pregnant mommas over the years but she wanted to offer women a more personable approach to seeing their babies- the fun part! We all know we have to have our mandatory doctor appointments but Beth wanted to be able to celebrate with moms and let them spend some time and bond with their babies. That's why she created Baby Joy Sonography.

So, now you can see what I mean when I say, "sonography will be your best friend." The ability to see and bond with your unborn baby is something so incredible that I never even knew was possible. But now we know, right!?
